About
Three out of four of my grandparents did not complete school past the 8th grade. As a military brat, I attended underserved and under-resourced public schools across the nation but persevered to become a first-generation college graduate. I did not achieve this alone as I was guided and supported by parents who were strong advocates of my potential and teachers who believed in me.
Through my experience as a 2nd grade teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina, I became acutely aware of how policy can have an immediate and at times dire impact on teachers and students. Frustrated by what appeared to be evidence-free decision-making, I decided to pursue my Master’s in Urban Education Policy to expand my potential for impact by being at the table where decisions are made.
Reflecting on my origin story, I’m on a mission to lead with empathy, think analytically, and inform decision-making through evidence in order to break down systemic inequities and ensure that all people, regardless of their zip code, have the ability to choose their own life’s trajectory.
Currently, I’m working toward a PhD in Education with a focus on Policy, Analysis and Evaluation as well as serving as a Data & Analytics Specialist at Worcester Public Schools. On any given day, you’ll find me crunching numbers in SPSS and Excel, building dashboards in Tableau, or using data as a bridge between diverse stakeholders.
I am driven by an ever-present sense of wonder and curiosity, and bring an innovative and action-oriented approach to all that I do. I thrive in collaborative, passionate, and equity-focused spaces. Outside of work, you’ll find me running, reading, and attending stand-up comedy shows.
